At Houndstead, we have created a haven for dogs and their owners!
My dream was to craft a retreat where dogs and their humans could enjoy cherished moments together. We have designed a safe, spacious environment that allows dogs to play freely and socialise, all while their owners relax and bond with their furry friends. Our 5-acre park is fully fenced with 2.4m high fencing, and features an extra-large chlorine, salt, magnesium pool.

What We Are About
After finding the perfect property, the adventure began, and I’ve dedicated myself to creating an enriching, safe and relaxing environment for all dogs (and their humans).
Houndstead is a private 5-acre dog park in Eumundi, Queensland, offering a retreat for dogs and their owners.
Key Features:
Private and Secure: Fully fenced with a 2.4m high fence and a large chlorine, salt and magnesium pool for humans and dogs (use at own risk). The deep end is about 1.6m deep and the shallow end is 0.5m with gradual slope into the pool. Majority of sides (except around palm tree) are shaped so that dogs can get out by themselves.
It is an approx. 300m walk from the car park uphill across the paddock to the dog park entrance. (Dogs to be kept on lead until in the parlk)
Off Leash Freedom:
5 acres of space for dogs to roam, sniff, run and play.
Dog friendly activities:
Includes a pool for dogs to swim and splash (as well as for hydro therapy) (dog swim vests available in the poolhouse in different sizes), hay bales for climbing and a big basket full of toys.
Human Amenities:
Features shaded seating, a pool for human use (to share with the dogs!), coffee/ tea facilities, cold drinks and snack. The pool house also contains a toilet and shower (for human use).
Extras:

Plastic cups and coffee mugs are available in the pool house. NO GLASS outside the pool house, especially in or around the pool.

Sunscreen, insect repellent (for humans and dogs), poo bags, first aid kit (for humans and dogs) can all be found in the pool house.
Suitable for various dogs:
Designed for medium to giant dogs (as there is a 10cm gap under the fence in line with pool compliance), providing a safe and calm environment for them to be a dog.

In essence, Houndstead provides a unique and tranquil space for dogs to be dogs and their owners to relax and enjoy quality time with their dog(s).

CHANGES from 1st OCT 2025
With a heavy heart and after long and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision that from October 1st, 2025, we will no longer be able to facilitate double-coated breeds (ALL breeds with an undercoat, including but not limited to Huskies, Maremma, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Shepherds, Sammoyeds, Collies, Rottweilers etc or a mix thereof. - Please do a google search if you are not sure whether your dog is a double coated breed.)
I hope this will change again in the future. However, right now, it is sadly not manageable whilst maintaining the same standard for all customers.
We have different options available:
- Basic Session (90min)
- Double session (180min)
- DIY Hydrotherapy (45min)
The sessions are for the exclusive hire of the facility for private use only.
Base price is for up to 2 adults and up to 4 dogs.
Any additional adult or dog is $20 and can be added during booking as required (max. 8 dogs, max. 2 people per dog).
Entry 10 minutes prior to your session - so we give others time to leave in peace.
Please keep your dog(s) on leash outside the actual dog park.
STRICTLY NO CHILDREN (18+ only) - This is a strictly child-free property.
STRICTLY NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS - nobody living at or visiting this property is to be put at risk.

Please note that we are currently only open on 'dry' days. Should the weather forecast for your booking be (heavy) rain, I will be in contact the day before and give you the option of a refund or to reschedule.
